The "Young Committed Writers" exhibition tells the story of those in Lebanon who, through their civic engagement, contribute to shaping a more inclusive world every day.

This project, led by the French Institute in Lebanon, in partnership with L'Orient-Le Jour, the Yomkom platform, and the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA), was made possible thanks to the valuable support of our patrons ALAM and Change Lebanon, and the support of the French Institute in Paris.

Located in Tyre, Southern of Lebanon overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, the ruins and land-forms narrate the richest timeline in history of the county.

The concept is inspired by the juxtaposition of Lebanon’s past and the modernism today. The metal structure sinks into the water, as a wooden tower overlooks it from above. The project strongly represents a rich past that slowly fades into the out-coming of today’s powerful influences.

Snack el Awedim is a Lebanese street food chain. It serves original Lebanese sandwiches and deserts with an authentic taste and great prices. The shop has an open kitchen area (cashier, grill, dispatcher) and a serving area.

The concept is inspired from a street food kiosk that deploys to serve. It’s done from galvanized metal sheets that create reflections and add an industrial mood to the place, mounted on a wooden structure, adding white glossy tiles for a clean kitchen look. The colors of the branding are used to keep a funky vibe.

Located in the mountains, in a calm small village, and surrounded by a green terrain full of vines, this 140 m² concrete prefabricated house will serve the family with all their needs keeping it comfortable and cozy.

This small house is designed smartly to be functional all by keeping a connection to the green outdoors.

The post war prosperity, the war with its fall and destruction, the reconstruction till the present and its projection towards hope.

The pharmacy is based on the client’s medical functions needed put together in a warm atmosphere . The entrance is rotated at a 40-degree angle to the main façade of the building and parallel to the main road. This creates a welcoming and a dynamic entrance to the visitors. The selling zone is divided in several areas to better guide and serve the customers. The general products will be displayed on white shelves to keep a medical feel, and to contrast with the cosmetic products made by light wood shelving installed on white brick walls, creating a cozier feel. The cosmetic area will offer a gathering and seated point to the clients.

ROS The House is located on the mountain road leading to one of the best Ski resorts in the Middle East. The shop sells technical and colorful ski and snowboard gear and apparel in addition of a rental and workshop area.

The concept of the shop is based on the idea of a house that has a warm atmosphere in contrast with the rental section cold and grey (garage like). The spaces communicate through a dynamic circulation keeping the rental and workshop as the dirty area far from living room.

Stars of Science, the edutainment TV initiative by Qatar Foundation, is the Arab world’s leading innovation show.

Established in 2008 to inspire a generation, the show empowers Arab youth to implement creative solutions to regional problems through science, technology, and innovation.

Over a 10-week process, an expert panel of jurors assesses and eliminates between nine innovators and their projects in Prototyping and Customer Validation episodes until only four finalists remain to compete for a share of $600,000 in seed funding. The ranking is determined by jury deliberation and online voting from the public.

As its name, the concept is inspired from the American New York city borough The Bronx, known for its urban gangsters, home of street art, and where many famous artist and actors grew up. A street mood with brick walls, graffitis and industrial lighting, added with hip hop music and live bands creates an amazing

unique atmosphere. The Bronx is the hip place in town.
